Hey Yall! Thank you for choosing to be a part of our journey as we grow our family through adoption!! We are so thankful to have each and every one of you with us as we take on this process. It takes a village to raise a child, and other times it takes a village to place a child in your arms. You are our VILLAGE! Unfortunately, the average cost of adoption in the United States is 40,000 ( YIKES!!!). However, there is no price tag that could shy us away from bringing home our baby. Our Story: For those of you who don’t know us, we are Shane and Neely Trotter of Mansfield, TX! We both have the privilege to work at Mansfield High School where my husband is the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and I am a teacher. Our schools motto is “Every Story Matters” and MHS is exactly where our story began! Shane asked me out while we were working Parent-Teacher Conferences (Yes really LOL) and I agreed to go out with him despite my Principal’s lighthearted advice, “ Don’t get your honey where you make your money” (Gotta love Jennifer Young). The rest is truly history! We dated for a long 4 months and then he put a ring on it! We were married on January 1st, 2016 and we have enjoyed every second of getting do life with each other. I truly believe there is nothing better than marriage! We have spent the last two years traveling, laughing, playing with our two precious pups, finding ways to be active (honestly we may be the only people over 14 who still hula hoop and routinely visit the sand volleyball courts), and soaking up every minute of life together. Every day is a hilarious adventure where we’ve learned patience, empathy, and teamwork. Life is magical when you are married to your best friend. Ever since we started dating, we have dreamed of getting to start a family together. After a few months of trying to have a baby, I just felt in my gut that something was not right. A few doctors’ visits and tests later, we learned we had little to no chance of being able to conceive. While infertility is heartbreaking and just plain hard to grasp and understand, we have graced with a sense of peace and strength. Our hearts were quickly led to adoption and we feel so fortunate to be a part of such a beautiful process. Don’t get me wrong, adoption is scary and is full of so many unknowns, but trust us when we say we are ready to pour ourselves into this process and that our hearts are prepared for this long journey! We are huge believers that the color of your skin, eyes, or hair don’t make a family, LOVE does. We can not thank you enough for helping us grow our family! We love you all!
