Lulu's ChristmasWish: Prosthetics

Lulu is a little dog with a lot of heart and failed by people. Lulu was found by the side of the road dragging her two legs in Imperial Beach. Upon examination, she was found to have had her back legs amputated at the knee down. No one knows if she had a genetic disorder or faced injury requiring the removal, but she can still get around. She found her way to San Diego humane society where she was waiting over 2 months for a home. We presume she was dumped as there is little chance she dragged herself out of someone’s yard. Our rescue leadership team was on vacation and stopped by the shelter to review and compare conditions to our local area. Upon seeing Lulu, we knew we could help her find a forever home faster and with more comfort living in a foster home. Lulu currently uses a wheelchair to scoot around and is potty trained. Without the chair, she faces a lot of challenges pottying on her own. Lulu just found out she would be a prime candidate for rehabilitation and prosthetics! Her Christmas wish is support so she can get the prosthetics allowing her to have more movement. Lulu tries to hop in the car when the door is open, and doesn’t realize her current wheels won’t hop with her. We hope to open up a new world of mobility to little Lulu and also find her the perfect home for Christmas
